Osh, or plov, is a dish of rice, meat, carrot and onion cooked together in a qozon. The carrot and onion are fried with the meat, after which rice is added, absorbing the broth and spices during the slow cooking.
It is served hot as a main course, often with a fresh vegetable salad on the side. One of the most recognizable dishes of Uzbek cuisine, suited for those who want a classic, filling lunch or dinner.
